Deadline: 2 October 2017
The UK’s Department for International Development, DFID Central Asia has launched a new competition opportunity in 2017, seeking partners for two new multi-million programmes to promote economic growth in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Economic Policy Facility.
This programme will turn high-level political support for growth and prosperity initiatives into realistic policies, strategies and plans which improve the economies, governance, resilience and delivery capability in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Economic Development Programme
The governments of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have ambitious plans to transform their economies, improve governance and build stability. However, the weakness of the private sector threatens to stall these ambitions. Foreign direct investment (FDI) is still limited and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are showing few signs of innovation and growth. The proposal is to establish innovation centres in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to incubate new businesses and provide business advice to small and medium sized enterprises with the potential and ambition for growth.
