DFID Call for Proposals: Strengthening Humanitarian Preparedness and Response (SHPR) Programme in Bangladesh

Climate Justice for Migrants & Communities of Color Program in the US

Deadline: 10 July 2017

The Department for International Development (DFID) of the UK Government is seeking proposals for its “Response to Cyclone MORA” under the Emergency Response and Recovery Fund (ERRF) which is managed by the SHPR Fund Management Office to support a humanitarian preparedness and response programme in Bangladesh.

The aim of the Strengthening Humanitarian Preparedness and Response (SHPR) programme is to provide more effective, timely and predictable humanitarian support to refugees in Bangladesh and to vulnerable communities following disasters. It aims to strengthen the ability of the Government of Bangladesh to meet the needs of these groups more effectively, speed up post-disaster action, and to reduce the scale of impact of disasters when they occur.

The proposals should detail how the proposed response will provide support to meet the priority needs of affected communities to restore houses, shelters, community facilities for refugees, food security status, water and sanitation, provision of education and learning centres.
