DFID: Cities and Infrastructure for Growth (CIG) Programme in Burma

The UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) is currently seeking applicants for its event on Cities and Infrastructure for Growth (CIG) programme in Burma.

Background Developing countries need to transform their economies if they are to eradicate poverty and meet the sustainable development goals. Reliable access to power, productive cities and infrastructure are vital. In the case of Myanmar, extensive investment is required across all aspects of public and private sector infrastructure, and rapid urbanisation will continue to place administrative and financial pressure on national and local government agencies.

Funding Information

The UK will provide £165m over 5 years for the CIG umbrella programme to support inclusive economic growth and job creation in DFID focus countries in Sub-Saharan Africa & South Asia.
