DFID: Delivering Climate Resilient Water and Sanitation in Ethiopia

RISE offering $5,000 in Seed Funding to improve access to clean Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

Deadline: 30 March 2018

The UK’s Department of International Development (DFID) is currently seeking applications for its programme entitled “Delivering Climate Resilient Water and Sanitation in Ethiopia”.

The programme “Delivering climate resilient water and sanitation in Ethiopia” will consist of a programme of financial aid and technical assistance to the Government of Ethiopia and other non-state actors to implement measures to improve the resilience of water and sanitation services to climate change in selected climate-vulnerable regions of the country.

The programme will benefit 5 million people, with up to 1 million people affected by drought benefitting from new or reinstated water and sanitation services. The programme complements DFID Ethiopia’s significant programming on water and sanitation and supports effective delivery of the Government of Ethiopia’s strategy for sustainable water supply in drought-affected areas.

The fund for financial aid and technical assistance to the Government of Ethiopia will have up to £15.2 million available for disbursement over 4 years. DFID will seek to contract a supplier for programme management and technical assistance, for which the anticipated budget range is up to £1.5 million over four years. Financial management and disbursements of the fund will be managed by DFID.
