DFID: Subsidised Temporary Employment Programme (STEP) for Syria and Lebanon

Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program:U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi

Deadline: 31 January 2017

The UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) is currently seeking applications for Subsidised Temporary Employment Programme (STEP).

STEP aims to incentivise small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to expand production and create new permanent jobs for low-skilled Lebanese workers as well as temporary jobs for Syrian refugees.

STEP is expected to achieve this through the provision of capital incentives (i.e. matching grants) and potentially additional wage subsidies and business development services. An additional component, critical to Lebanese Government support for the programme, is the creation of savings accounts for Syrian workers, accessible on leaving Lebanon.

How to Apply

Interested applicants must apply using DFID supplier portal.
