The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is seeking applications for funding for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 Strategies To Support Children Exposed to Violence.
This solicitation provides funding for communities to develop and provide support services for children exposed to violence.
Goals
- The overall goal of the program is to build the capacity of families and communities to help children exposed to violence.
Objectives
- Reduce the incidence of violence through accountability efforts for juvenile offenders.
- Improve family and community responses to children exposed to violence.
- Increase protective factors to prevent juvenile violence, delinquency, and victimization.
- Support communities to develop, design and deliver strategies to support children exposed to violence.
Funding Categories
There are two categories of funding available under this solicitation:
- Category 1: Project Sites. Funding under this category can be used to develop support services for children exposed to violence in their homes, schools, and communities; and to develop, enhance, and implement violent crime reduction strategies that focus on violent juvenile offenders. This program development and resource allocation decision by interested applicants should be based on currently available resources to the jurisdiction and gaps in services.
- Category 2: Training and Technical Assistance. In addition to supporting program implementation and direct service activities, the initiative will fund a training and technical assistance provider to support the Category 1 project sites.

- Estimated Total Program Funding: $7,500,000;
- Award Ceiling: $1,000,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Applicants:
- Independent school districts;
- City or township governments;
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education;
- Private institutions of higher education;
- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education;
- Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments);
- County governments;
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education;
- State governments.
