The City’s Arts Commission has a one-time arts organization grant available for 2021 to support arts and cultural projects in Edmonds by artists and cultural and arts organizations based in Edmonds.

The goal is to support initiatives that strengthen community’s sense of cohesion and Edmonds’ unique cultural identity in the Puget Sound region, provide cultural experiences that represent diverse community, and enhance the lives of Edmonds residents. The purpose of the grant is to help build and reinforce a diverse and equitable cultural community in Edmonds, recognizing the uncertainty and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the necessity of changing strategies to create access for all to the arts.

Funding Information

Awards between $1,000 and $10,000 will be considered. Total available funding is $50,000. Projects must be completed in 2021. The first 20% of the award is processed after the grant contract is submitted with all required forms and an invoice. The remaining 80% will be processed after receipt of the final report and invoice. The City is not obligated to award all of the funds and reserves the right to not award any of the funds.

What kinds of projects are Eligible?

EAC is committed to supporting all forms of arts in their community, including but not limited to visual, literary and performing, folk/traditional, and media arts. A wide range of projects and initiatives with an arts or cultural focus will be considered, such as (but not limited to) the following:

Eligibility Criteria

Both individual artists and arts and culture organizations based in Edmonds are eligible, but applicants must have not-for-profit status either solely or through a partnership or umbrella relationship to qualify. Collaborations are encouraged. At least one entity in a collaboration or partnership must be an Edmonds resident or organization based in Edmonds. For example, individual artists in collaboration with a not-for-profit organization may apply, or an arts service organization, community-based arts organization or other groups might work in partnership with a local not-for-profit, with the not-for-profit being the lead applicant.
