Call for Proposals 2021: Support for Enterprise Development

The Civil Society Team (CST) has launched the East Africa Small Grants Scheme for the first time as part of the Fast-tracking UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) Implementation project.

The CST will sponsor civil society organization’s (CSOs) innovative proposals in anti-corruption aimed to advance the implementation of the themes on public procurement and whistleblower protection.

The CST in partnership with the UK Foreign and Commonwealth office (UK-FCO) aim to strengthen civil society capacity to work constructively with government, with the ultimate aim to succeed in implementing UNCAC.

Thematic Focus and Priority Issues

This Call for Proposals seeks to provide funding for East African civil society organizations (CSOs), in particular non-governmental organizations (NGOs), at national, local and/or community level, working in the area of anti-corruption.

The grant scheme targets East Africa CSOs, namely those from Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Grant funding under this Call for Proposals shall be provided to projects that:

The specific undertaking of the grants project will not be for UNODC to plan or determine, rather be the conception of CSOs. The type of activities which would be considered, but do not constitute an exhaustive list, include:

While the value of publications in various forms on each of the two anti-corruption themes is valuable and necessary, it is the intention not to sponsor such projects in this call for applications.

Funding Information

Proposals with budgets up to USD 10,000 will be considered for the award. Please note that value for money will be assessed as a part of the rating criteria.
