The ESB West Durham Wind Farm Community Benefits Fund is now open for applications.
Funding Information
Amount: Grants up to £5000
Eligible Areas
3-mile radius of the wind farm and also include the following five named villages: Cornsay, Cornsay Colliery, Hamsteels, East Hedleyhope and Satley. A 10-mile radius of the site will be considered if beneficiaries come from within the 3-mile radius and/or the five named villages.
Eligibility Criteria
- You Must:
- be a not-for-profit, voluntary or community group,social enterprise or registered charity
- have a governing document (constitution/set of rules)
- have a management committee/governance body with at least four independent and unrelated members.
- have a bank or building society account in the name of the group, with a minimum of two unrelated cheque signatories
- not have received a previous grant from us which was not managed satisfactorily( i.e. not returned satisfactory monitoring information).
- In addition, we expect that you will have the necessary safeguards and policies in place for the groups or beneficiaries you may work with. Where necessary, please indicate that you have the following in place:
- safeguarding policy (child protection policy and or vulnerable adult policy and procedures)
- landlord’s/planning permission for any capital works
- public liability insurance
- employer’s liability insurance
- equality and diversity policy
