Call for Proposals: Voices for Climate Action Programme (Kenya)

The European Union (EU) is inviting applicants for its Research and Innovation applied to Family Farming for Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience in Angola. Through the involvement of European research entities, this Action will seek to build up capacities of stakeholders in Angola to generate knowledge and innovation in agriculture.

This action is part of an initiative on climate resilient Development Smart Innovation through Research in Agriculture (DeSIRA), which is steered by the European Commission and involves some EU Member States and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

By linking more effectively development initiatives with research and innovation, DeSIRA intends to boost innovation in agriculture and food systems transformation of partner countries with a view to be more resilient to the effects of climate change.

Objectives & Priority Issues

The global objective of this call for proposals is:

  • To contribute to the transformation of agriculture sector in Angola through innovation and research. The specific objective of this call for proposals are:
    • Applied research and innovation improve action to address climate change adaptation and resilience of family farming in Angola.
  • The priority of this call for proposals is to find options for the improvement of family farming, test them, and assess their contribution to resilience.

Funding Information

  • The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 1 000 000.
  • Size of grants:
    • Minimum amount: EUR 800 000;
    • Maximum amount: EUR 1 000 000.
  • Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and maximum percentages of total eligible costs of the action:
    • Minimum percentage: 70 % of the total eligible costs of the action.
    • Maximum percentage: 90 % of the total eligible costs of the action.
