EU-MedFilm4all Project: Accessing Films Tackling Social and Gender Issues in Southern Mediterranean Region

Call for Expressions of Interest: Small Grant Fund for Syrian CSO-Media

Deadline: 18 October 2018

The EU-funded MedFilm4all project has launched its second call for proposals to widen the audience and the access to films tackling sensitive issues, in particular gender. The specific objective is to increase the production, the diffusion and accessibility of audio-visual productions promoting social and gender issues and to improve the exchange and network between civil society organisations and film industry actors.

The beneficiaries of the grants should focus on improving gender equality, especially for women living in rural/remote areas (but not only), by developing the audience and the debates around films tackling social and gender issues. Selected projects will contribute to mitigate stereotypes relating to the image of women in Arab societies, with the ultimate goal of influencing widespread cultural attitudes and promoting an inclusive and equal human development in the target societies. Further to this, applicants should also, to the extent of possible, include activities specifically related to empowering women professionals in the film industry, therefore enhancing job opportunities.
