The European Union (EU) has announced a call for proposals for the Promotion of Human Rights in Prisons and Small-Scale Artisanal Mines.

In response to the human rights situation at artisanal small-scale mining sites, particularly in the context of the fight against child labor, and in view of the scale of the phenomenon Burkina Faso, the European Union wished to contribute, from 2016 to the promotion and protection of human rights of populations through the establishment and development of integrated protection of human rights, particularly those of children at traditional gold mining sites.

Funding Information

The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is 1,250 000 EUR. The Contracting Authority reserves the right not to allocate all of the available funds.

The general objective of this call for proposals is to promote the human rights of prisoners in through the improvement of prison conditions and those of the populations directly involved and indirectly in artisanal small-scale mines.
