The European Union (EU) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for “EU-US Transatlantic Civil Society Dialogues 2017 Program” in order to increase ties, cooperation, and understanding between EU and US civil society groups through dialogue among a broad set of stakeholders on a wide range of issues in EU-US relations, complementing formal policy dialogue at government level.
Programme Lots
The programme is divided into three lots:
- Lot 1 : Transatlantic Consumer Dialogue
- Lot 2: Transatlantic Dialogue on Prevention of Radicalisation and Violent Extremism
- Lot 3: Transatlantic Dialogue on Energy Issues in the Context of Climate Change
Objectives
- to stimulate dialogue and cooperation between non-governmental organisations, associations, and interest groups, representing a wide range of constituencies in the EU and the US;
- to increase understanding of EU policies amongst relevant civil society audiences and multipliers from both the EU and US; and
- to improve the feedback loop between policymakers and civil society actors in the EU and US.
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between EUR 150,000 and EUR 200,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or in the USA, and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the coapplicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations
- The lead applicant must declare that the lead applicant himself, the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies) are not in any of these situations.
- The lead applicant must act with co-applicant(s) as specified hereafter.
- If awarded the grant contract, the lead applicant will become the beneficiary identified as the Coordinator. The Coordinator is the main interlocutor of the Contracting Authority. It represents and acts on behalf of any other co-beneficiary (if any) and coordinate the design and implementation of the action.
