The Europe Foundation (EPF) is pleased to announce a call for proposals aimed at strengthening the organizational capacity of grassroots Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and increasing their effective and sustained engagement in the decision-making processes at a local level, so as to identify and address the communities’ salient problems.
The aim of the competition is to contribute to the development of newly created CSOs, which facilitate their active participation in topical local communities in identifying and solving problems.
Objectives
The main objectives of the grant competition are:
- Strengthening newly established CSOs in their institutional development, close cooperation with civil society and various through a stakeholder partnership.
- Facilitate CSO civic monitoring and advocacy activities identify and solve current problems at the local level in order to meet with the population, experienced community organizations and through collaboration with the media.
Funding Information
- The amount is GEL 18,000 for each project.
- The duration of the project should be at least 8 months.
Eligible Activities
Grant funds can be used only for the project to fund the following activities directly related to implementation:
- Expenses related to data and fact collection;
- Direct costs related to the implementation of the project (eg space Hire, translate, purchase equipment, etc.);
- Communication between partner organizations (telephone, fax, e-mail); – Proportionally distributed salaries are project core for implementers (e.g. director, accountant) and moderate fees for project experts;
- Transportation of project participants;
- Limited amount of equipment (eg fax, computer, software provision) and purchase of stationery;
- Other costs directly related to the project.
Ineligible Funding
The European Fund does not fund:
- Humanitarian projects;
- Political activity or support of any political party;
- Lobbying for political purposes (perhaps the Foundation will support only lobbying for issues of public and social benefit);
- reviewing the applicant’s court cases or litigation;
- Religious activities;
- Construction projects implemented for commercial purposes;
- Any kind of military activity;
- Repayment of loans;
- Theoretical and private market research;
- Study scholarships and travel grants.
Eligibility Criteria
- Newly registered in Georgia can participate in the competition
- Established, non-profit, non-profit CSOs with at least one year they have work experience.
- Should not be involved in project implementation (as Grant Remunerated Employees): Public Servants, Political Representatives of parties and organizations.
