The European Commission is currently accepting proposals from eligible organizations for its Media Professionalism Programme in order to improve conditions for quality journalism including modern/innovative approaches to increase quality and credibility of investigative journalism.
Priority Areas
- Strengthening investigative reporting
- Strengthening EU affairs reporting
- Supporting the Code of Ethics
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between EUR 75,000 and EUR 125,000.
Location
Actions should take place in Montenegro.
Duration
The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 12 months nor exceed 18 months.
Eligibility Criteria
Lead Applicant
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person established in Montenegro and
- be either a media (print media, electronic media (radio or TV) including public broadcasters, on-line media, media production company),
- or a media professional association
- or a media training organisation
- or a journalist association
- or a civil society organisation and
- be registered as a legal entity for a minimum of two years and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations
Co-applicant(s)
- Co-applicants participate in designing and implementing the action, and the costs they incur are eligible in the same way as those incurred by the lead applicant.
- Co-applicants must satisfy the eligibility criteria as applicable to the lead applicant.
- In addition, the following is however also eligible:
- be a legal person established in a Member State of the European Union or in a country covered by the Article 10 of the IPA Regulation and
- be either a media (print media, electronic media (radio or TV) including public broadcasters, on-line media, media production company),
- or a media professional association
- or a media training organisation
- or a journalist association
- or a civil society organisation
