The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Poland invites local organizations in Podlaskie region to submit proposals aimed at preparedness and response planning for comprehensive humanitarian assistance to migrants and refugees in Podlaskie.
Preparedness and response planning projects may encompass activities aimed at
- addressing the urgent needs of migrants and refugees through pre-positioning of essential non-food items;
- strengthening coordination mechanisms within the Podlaskie region (Białystok);
- strengthening the capacities of key stakeholders within the Podlaskie region (Białystok); and/or
- conducting research and data collection efforts to enhance the current understanding of the needs and accessibility requirements of migrants and refugees in the Podlaskie region.
Sectors and Areas of Specialization
- Humanitarian Response Preparedness and Planning, migrants, vulnerable groups including children, pregnant women, elderly, persons in need of medical assistance, gender-based violence survivors, victims of trafficking, people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, and sex (SOGIESC)
Funding Information
- The grant allocation can cover activity costs of up to 158,000 PLN (40,000 USD), encompassing expenses related to the acquisition of necessary materials and equipment costs. A financial contribution from the applying organization is not required.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants should be registered entities in Poland, demonstrating a robust presence in the region and a track record of experience in preparedness and response planning and the provision of services to migrants and refugees. Consideration of other applicants will be made only in instances where these entities can offer highly specialized services urgently required in the Podlaskie region.
- The grant cannot be utilized for personnel costs.
- Advance payments of up to 50 per cent of the approved grant are possible provided that a minimum of 10 per cent of the total grant amount is withheld until the completion of the proposed activities and submission of the related financial reports.
- All preparedness and response planning activities must take place in the Podlaskie region, Poland
