German Embassy London calling German and British Creative Teams at Home – Stand Together and Go Virtual

As COVID-19 continues to affect the world and poses a serious threat to the diversity and wealth of cultural world usually based on face-to-face contacts, the German Embassy London and the Goethe-Institut London would like to invite responses from creative minds across the UK in order to meet today’s challenges conceptually and digitally.

This call is open to German and British nationals in the UK working together in German-British creative Teams.

With this open call they want to encourage open debate around creative and inspiring ideas how they need to equip world culturally for the aftermath of COVID-19 and at the same time welcome a critical discourse around the ramifications of the virtual or digital world for arts and culture.

Candidates can choose whichever medium they find appealing and suitable and the result can either be a work of art, work in progress, a digital diary, a podcast, a video etc.

The projects can unfold or be presented on the individual artists’ websites, on a public web platform, via social media channels or on an alternative platform with a wide reach to audiences online in Germany, in the UK and beyond.

All projects by the successful creative teams, which will then have been officially commissioned by the German Embassy London, shall be completed by 15 September 2020.

Funding Information

Each successful project will receive a total grant of up to 3.000 GBP.

Eligibility Criteria

The application is open to German and British nationals based in the UK working together in German-British teams who are freelance creative professionals and come from all cultural areas including visual arts, literature, music, design or film.
