The Goethe-Institut Nigeria has launched an open call for the 2023 Support and Connect Initiative to support artistic and cultural initiatives from all parts of the country.
For the past years, the Goethe-Institut Nigeria has supported a wide range of projects created and implemented by Nigerian artists and initiatives in various art forms: music, contemporary dance, photography, films (documentary), theatre, visual arts and many more.
They regard this support as crucial to give young and upcoming people in the cultural landscape of Nigeria a chance to be heard and seen.
Goethe-Institut Nigeria also supports travel funds to artists, who are invited to festivals and other cultural projects in Germany or on the African continent.
Funding Information
- This year, the Support and Connect initiative is supporting projects with funds to the tune of 5.000 Euros.
- They also continue with the sustainability grant (i.e. recurring projects that already had funding from the Goethe-Institut and want to further develop) with maximum budget of 2.000 Euros)
Eligibility Criteria
- Target group and requirements:
- Individuals, who already received an official invitation to a cultural festival or project
- Artists and cultural initiatives that work professionally (with at least 3 years of experience), who want to organize a cultural project in Nigeria
- The project idea has to be already conceptualized and has reached a certain level of preparation
- The project has to be implemented during the year 2023 and latest be completed by December 10, 2023
- Only completely and correctly filled out application forms will be considered
- Art initiatives have to be registered and has a bank account
- The project will participate in social media campaigns of the Goethe-Institut.
