Deadline: 15-Feb-22
The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan has announced the applications for Empowering Girls through STEM Learning.
Based on funding availability, this project will train 100 Pakistani young women between 14-16 years old in the latest Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) skills through hands-on workshops at the Lincoln Corners in five cities of Pakistan within a period of one year. These skills will equip and inspire the participants to make career choices in STEM and environmental fields.
Project Goal: Through an innovative, one-year skill-building program at Pakistan’s Lincoln Corners, at least 50 young women will opt for STEM and environmental fields as their academic and career choice.
Project Objectives
- In a series of 20 workshops and one intensive capstone event over a year, a cohort of 100 young women in the Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, and Lahore districts will gain the ability to identify a challenge and develop a technology-focused project or product to address it. Students will also be more aware of solutions to environmental issues through this program.
