The House of Europe funded by the European Union is inviting eligible applicants for its Grants for Personal Projects in the Field of Media. The program is designed to support professional and creative exchange between Ukrainians and their counterparts in EU countries.
Get a diploma from the school of investigative journalism, take part in a writing workshop, launch a podcast with guests from all over Europe or try yourself as a conference organizer for regional media with a headliner from the EU – the program will support.
How is a Personal Project?
- A project that is not related to the applicant current work tasks. This should be a new initiative for which you will take responsibility.
- A project with a focus on applicant professional growth. They need to gain experience in project management, new skills, and useful acquaintances.
- A project involving the EU or the UK. Applicant can learn from European colleagues or present their ideas to them.
- Training, internships, networking, blogging, events, running a training course – any initiative that is useful to applicant can be a project.
Priority Areas
In general – anything that fascinates and that can be useful for Ukraine. The priority is the following topics:
- Fighting fakes, manipulations and other elements of hybrid warfare;
- Journalistic ethics, values and tools;
- Converged journalism (multimedia journalism);
- Self-payment and independence of the media;
- Cultural journalism;
- Economic journalism.
Funding Information
- The grant offers up to € 4,000 for applicant personal project involving the EU or the UK. Use it to implement an idea that has been bothering applicant for a long time.
Eligibility Criteria
- The program invites:
- Local and regional media managers;
- Editors and journalists of local and regional media;
- Journalists writing about culture;
- Journalists writing about economics;
- Investigative journalists;
- Fact-checking journalists.
- The program only accepts individual applications. They cannot submit a team project.
- Applicant cannot profit from the project. They also cannot order services from the organization where they work.
- Applicant will have five months to implement. It is necessary to plan, implement and report on the project during May-September 2021.
- The program accepts applications only from professionals who have reached the age of majority. There are no other age restrictions.
- Only citizens of Ukraine and only those living on its territory can apply.
- If applicant has received the mobility grant, they cannot apply for this opportunity.
