Grants to Support Access to Justice for Migrants in West Africa

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is pleased to announce the launch of its call for proposals for the award of grants aimed at promoting and protecting the human rights of migrants in Africa of the West by improving their access to justice.

Under the joint PROMIS project between OHCHR and UNODC, funded by the Netherlands, these grants will be awarded to civil society organizations (CSOs), law firms and national human rights institutions (NHRIs) who provide legal assistance to migrants in one – or more – of the eight project countries (Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Mali, Niger, Chad, Burkina Faso, Nigeria or Senegal).

Grants awarded will each be for an amount of less than USD 20,000 for a maximum duration of 12 months.
