Are you a change agent, social activist or involved in a project aiming to strengthen governance processes in Uganda? Hivos East Africa would like to partner with you to amplify and support efforts being done by its other 14 implementing partners. The partners are generally in the areas of Social Accountability, Media and Creative Arts.

Hivos East Africa is currently seeking proposals for its Connecting Voices of Citizens (CVC) project in Uganda. The project seeks to strengthen the capacities of citizens, change agents and civil society organizations to promote and protect civic spaces and accountable governance.

Connecting Voices of the Citizens to Promote and Protect civic spaces and freedom of expression in Uganda” and will be co implemented with a range of Ugandan partners from different sectors.

The grants will support change agents with good ideas that cannot be implemented within the frameworks of organizations or very formal settings. Ideally, Hivos East Africa would like to give opportunity to individuals who will add value to the work they are already doing. These should be individuals with a strong issue that they would love to advocate for. For purposes of this project, the agents must demonstrate how they will disseminate their content, the advocacy platforms they intend to use and describe the target audience they intend to reach.

Project Objectives

The expected outcome of the project will be an expanded and inclusive civic space in Uganda. The outcome will be realized based on the following result areas:

Funding Information

Selected partners will receive Individual grants between EUROS 5,000 and EUROS 20,000 for a period of not more than 12 months.
