The 2022/23 Inclusive Banyule Grants invites not for profit community groups/organisations and social enterprises working within Banyule to recognise, celebrate or commemorate observational days of significance.
Council seeks to fund community events, forum and training programs that aim to increase the visibility and awareness of diversity with the City of Banyule.
The Inclusive Banyule Plan 2022 – 2026 aims to uplift social equity and guides how Council will work to promote and foster diversity and inclusion across our organisation and the municipality. To achieve this, Council seeks to actively foster partnerships and collaboration by exploring new synergies, creating connections and enhancing access to opportunities and resources.

The Inclusive Banyule Grants aim to:

Promote harmony, celebrate and/or recognise one of the following observational days of significance (within the period of November 2022 – June 2023).
- Transgender Day of Remembrance – 20 November 2022
- 16 Days of Activism – 25 November – 10 December 2022
- International Day of People with Disability – 3 December 2022
- International Women’s Day – 8 March 2023
- Transgender Day of Visibility – 13 March 2023
- Cultural Diversity Week / Harmony Day – 23 March 2023
- IDAHOBIT – 17 May 2023
- Sorry Day – 26 May 2023
- Reconciliation Week – 27 May – 3 June 2023
- Pride Month – June 2023
- World Elder Abuse Day – 15 June 2023
- Refugee Week – 18 – 24 June 2023
- NAIDOC Week 2 –9 July 2023
- Faith Days of Significance (between November 2022 and June 2023)
- Support community groups to observe the days of significance that are meaningful to them.
- Promote diversity and inclusion and support communities to understand the importance and meaning of significant days.
- Enhance opportunities for residents to participate in days of significance and learn more about the value of diversity and inclusion in their community.

Funding Information
- A total grant pool of up to $25,000 is available.

There are two categories of grants available for the 2022/23 Inclusive Banyule Grant Program:
- Events or recognition activities focused on one of the specified observational days of significance – Up to $2000.
- Community forum, seminar or training session recognising the theme – Up to $2000.
Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be one of the following:
- An incorporated association
- An auspiced not for profit community group
- A public Company limited by guarantee (not-for-profit) or
- A Charity or Benevolent Trust

Applicants also need to
- Provide support, programs or services to people in the City of Banyule (where the applicant is located outside the municipal borders, Banyule residents will need to be the major beneficiaries).
- Have been established and operational for a minimum of 12 months.
- Have a formal structure including office bearers and a bank account.
- Have an ABN or be willing to complete a “Statement by Supplier”.
- Hold Public Liability Insurance to the value of $20 million.
- Ensure legal requirements are met – e.g. Working with Children Check, Vaccination Certificates
- Maximum of one application per organisation.
- Have discussed their application with a Council Officer prior to submission.
- Apply before the closing date and time.
