Deadline: 17-May-24

The Embassy of the United States of America in New Delhi announces an open competition to implement a project to increase Indian engagement as a regional leader with like-minded partners across the Indo-Pacific.

The United States Indo-Pacific Strategy envisions a free, open, connected, prosperous, secure, and resilient Indo-Pacific region in which all countries prosper jointly as sovereign and independent states.  This vision is based on principles including free, fair, and open trade and investment environments, good governance, and freedom of navigation.

The Public Diplomacy Section of Embassy New Delhi invites application submissions for a cooperative agreement to a non-profit academic or research institution, including those run or led by USG exchange and/or program alumni.  The awardee will design, coordinate, administer, and implement a three-day residency titled the “Indo-Pacific Think Tank Conference” in India for 15 EOL think tankers from the United States, Japan, Australia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia along with 15 counterparts from India.

Participants will use the resources learned and discussed at the conference to co-write at least 15 papers/articles in total on regional cooperation and best practices in the Indo-Pacific under varied Indo-Pacific Strategy Pillars [minimum of one paper/article per two participants – with an Indian participant paired with a counterpart from outside India].  The selected grantee will endeavor to have these papers/articles published in global journals and media, including those published in participating countries, to better inform stakeholders and impact policymaking focused on tackling defined challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.

Via this cooperative award, the U.S. government seeks to increase Indian engagement and perception as a leader with like-minded partners across the Indo-Pacific.
