IOM announces Call for Proposals for Promoting Peace and Solidarity in the Face of Covid-19 in South Sudan

IOM is looking to partner with key national civil society organizations (CSOs) in Juba, Bentiu and Wau to partner with on mediation, conflict resolution and negotiation, as well as in eliminating hate speech and discrimination connected to the disease.

The purpose of the project is to use the fight against the COVID19 pandemic to promote peaceful co-existence, social cohesion and combat stigmatization, creating the conditions for cooperation needed to limit and respond to the spread of the virus.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) with support from the Reconciliation, Stabilization, Resilience Trust Fund (RSRTF) is implementing a project entitled, Promoting Peace and Solidarity in the Face of the COVID-19 in Juba, Bentiu and Wau.

Goals

The overall goal of the project is to deter violence connected to the spread of COVID-19 and to contribute to social cohesion and peaceful coexistence through the promotion of solidarity and tolerance. The outcomes of the project are as follows:
