The Kalamazoo Community Foundation is seeking applications for its Grant Program to make community investments in quality programs that they believe will make Kalamazoo County a place where every person can reach full potential.
Grants from KZCF ensure all of their children have an equal chance for success in school, nurture and prepare all of their young people for life beyond school, support individuals and families from all walks of life, and enhance community prosperity in every corner of Kalamazoo County.
Kalamazoo Community Foundation (KZCF) awards grants to Kalamazoo County nonprofits throughout the year. They collaborate and partner with Kalamazoo County nonprofits in a variety of sectors, including food, housing, health and more.
What they don’t Fund?
The Kalamazoo Community Foundation does not fund for-profit business development projects, private land purchases or private home purchases. They also do not provide grants to individuals other than academic scholarships.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations that are recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or that have a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and serve Kalamazoo County may submit funding requests. Religious institutions and governmental agencies that serve residents in Kalamazoo County may also submit requests. Organizations must affirm that their inclusion policies and/or practices align with their Inclusion Statement.
- Preference will be given to organizations that are able to most closely meet the following:
- Serving most vulnerable populations and ability to demonstrate concrete impact on life trajectories
- High alignment with equity/education priorities with a strong focus on racial equity
- Ability to demonstrate a plan of action and measurable outcomes over a 3-year period for a consistent stream of funds
- Demonstrated high capacity in engaging an equity lens, strategies, and practices
- Community voice engaged to inform work
- Openness to feedback, adaptation, and deeper engagement with KZCF
