The LCR Pride Foundation is currently accepting applications for the Open grants for projects which aim to bring the LGBT+ Community together.
Projects funded could support breaking down barriers and prejudices the community may face, encourage community cohesion or celebrate diversity.
The Foundation encourages applications from projects that represent the broad diversity of the LGBT+ Community and that support the marginalised groups within it. They will consider each application on its merits in order to ensure that the funding and those benefiting from it are as diverse as possible.
Funding Information
Grants available up to £1000, however applicants are advised it is anticipated that most grants awarded from this fund will be in the region of £500-£750.
The Foundation does not fund
- Unfortunately due to the limited funds available they are unable to fund personal expenses (unless incurred in the delivery of the project) and they are unable to consider hardship applications. Generally, the fund must be for the benefit of more than one person.
- They cannot fund projects that negatively target a specific person, group or organisation.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications are open to any type of organisation or individuals, however please note:
- If applying as an individual, you will be asked to provide a guarantor organisation/reference (someone who can support your application and ideally hold the funds for you),
- If a group which does not have a legal entity, they’d expect to see a document like a terms of reference, rules or a constitution, and will require a guarantor/reference who would ideally hold the funds; If your group has a bank account they’ll require evidence of this,
- As they hope this fund will make a difference to grassroots and community-led initiatives please note the applicant organisation should have an annual turnover less than £200,000pa. If it is over this please get in touch. Please note this threshold does not apply to the guarantor organisation.
Applications must:
- Geography – Funded initiatives must be delivered within and for the benefit of residents of the Liverpool City Region; either as a whole, or for one or more of its constituent boroughs (namely: Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens or Wirral). Organisations with a larger remit will be required to demonstrate that the funding will only be spent within the region.
- Applicants under 18 – They are happy to consider applications from those under 18, however the application must be supported by a guarantor organisation that will hold the money on your behalf and support you. If you do not have an organisation to do so, please get in touch to be connected to one of partners.
- Appropriate Policies – They expect all applications to include the appropriate policies and risk assessments (where applicable) that are needed for the safe and compliant delivery of the project – such as your Safeguarding policy. You may be asked.
- d to provide or create these before the funding is awarded.
- Accounts – If your organisation must legally file annual accounts then you’ll be required to provide a copy of your most recent submission.
Reporting & Monitoring
- To ensure that funding is used for what it is awarded and to measure the impact of this they require all successful applicants to update on progress and submit a final report at the end of the project.
- Their monitoring has been kept as simple as possible and will consist of quarterly ‘Keeping-in-Touch’ meetings or calls with the project delivery team and an end-of-grant form where you will confirm the measurable project outcomes such as:
- How the project has met the outcomes you set in your application,
- How many people the project has supported,
- Where those that the project supported are from within Liverpool City Region,
- Where possible, the demographics of those your project has supported,
They also encourage all applicants to share other more detailed evidence where possible such as case studies/stories from the project, testimonials, photos and video evidence and marketing coverage. All successful applicants agree to LCR Pride Foundation naming and promoting their project as part of promoting the work of charity.
