The Les Mills Fund for Children is inviting applications to provide grants to create a healthier and fitter planet and to make the opportunity available to everyone.
For 50 years Les Mills has been making the world a fitter place. Since the early 1980s, Les Mills has created scientifically backed group fitness classes to help millions of people across the world achieve their health and fitness goals.
The Les Mills Fund for Children works with carefully selected organisations who share their values and have the resources available to help children. LMFC raises money to fund other charitable projects within the UK and the Republic of Ireland. In order to raise money their dedicated team carry out a wide range of charitable work.
Focus Areas
LMFC award the funds they raise to registered charities and accountable non-profit organisations who believe will do their most to improve the education and physical and emotional wellbeing of children. Your work may focus on one or more of these areas:
- Health & Wellbeing
- Physical & Mental Health Problems
- Living With Disability
- Living in Poverty
Funding Information
- LMFC invite applications for up to £1,000.
- They want to support a wide range and number of youth causes that inspire children to get active.
LMFC does not fund:
- Applicants whose projects do not fit one LMFC’s four target groups, Living in Poverty, Physical & Mental Health Problems, Health & Wellbeing and Living with a Disability.
- Organisations which are not registered charities or CIC’s.
- Charities:
- That have been registered for less than 12 months
- Present financial information which is incomplete or out of date
- That have management and administration costs (including fundraising costs) above 30% of their annual expenditure
- That have projects and organisations outside the UK or the Republic of Ireland
- Where funding requests are over £1,0000 pa for up to 2 years (£2,000 total)
- Whose request is solely for day-to-day administrative running costs (rent, lighting, heat, etc.)
- Whose request is solely for staff salaries or other staff costs
- Where outcomes are unclear or where the grant will not make an impact
- Where requests are made by individuals, general donations
- Where the request is for fundraising events or other fundraising costs
- That work with adults over the age of 25
- Whose request is for medical research, individual medical treatment
- Where the application is for capital appeals to a general fund or construction of new buildings
- Where the application is for overseas expeditions or exchange programmes
- Where the application is for training or conferences for professionals or staff, e.g. teacher training, parenting training
- Where the application is for a loan
- Whose work excludes some faith groups
- Who work with only boys or only girls
- Generally the Foundation will not fund applicants with an income above £2 million except for hospices or to reflect their own size. Charities larger than this may still apply, but please note that preference may be given to applications from smaller charities.
Eligibility Criteria
LMFC award the funds they raise to registered charities and accountable non-profit organisations who they believe will do their most to improve the education and physical and emotional wellbeing of children aged 0-16.
