Consortium is happy to announce a new fund which focuses on supporting the Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex communities in the Devolved Nations of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Funding comes from a partnership with The Funding Network and Give Out, under the badge of City for LGBT+ – a live crowdfunding event which is held annually.
Consortium recognises the current hostility towards Trans and Non-Binary communities in the UK. Organisations working with these communities are underfunded and under resourced and this is particularly the case in the Devolved Nations where access to funding is even more limited and oversubscribed.
The aim for this fund is to enable organisations in the Devolved Nations to become sustainable and resilient so that the communities they support can thrive.
Funding Information
- Grants range from £500 to £3000, and applicants are welcome to apply for the amount they need to undertake their work.
- All grants must be fully spent by 30th September 2025.
What they can fund?
- The aim of this Fund is to help Trans, Non-Binary and Intersex organisations to be well resourced, sustainable, and resilient.
- If you have a project or social group you are interested in getting funded, then they want to hear from you
- If your organisation can demonstrate it has been doing amazing work and needs core funding, then let them know about it
- They are also interested in hearing from groups who are new and needing support to thrive and grow.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be based and working within the devolved nations of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and specifically working with one or more of the following communities of focus:
- Trans people
- Non-Binary people
- Intersex people
- Groups must be able to show they are led by and for the communities of focus listed above.
- This means the primary purpose of your organisation is to support one of the communities of focus and;
- These communities are majority represented in your leadership.
- If your organisation supports a wider group of people (e.g. all LGBT+ people), unfortunately your organisation is not eligible for this fund, even if you have a project to support one or more communities of focus. Your organisation must be set up to support one or more of the communities of focus.
- You do not need to be a Member of Consortium to be eligible to apply.
Ineligible
- Individuals.
- Any organisation, group or project that is not specifically focused on and led by the communities of focus identified.
- Multiple applications from an organisation. In the interest of fairness, Consortium can only consider one application from each organisation/group per fund.
- Organisations which cannot demonstrate that they are working in an inclusive, non-discriminatory way.
- Activities/work that takes place outside of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
