Deadline: 1-Jul-25
The London Gateway Freeport is providing Investment Fund to local communities to respond to diverse needs they have, such as – helping young people, addressing employment skills shortages, boosting educational opportunities, protecting local wildlife, habitats and the environment, strengthening social cohesion, and building safer communities.
Themes
- Environmental Protection and Stewardship
- With all the challenges local people face, it is easy for the environment to become neglected. It is, however, essential to protect it so that it continues to protect and serve them long into the future. The Community Fund supports projects that help local habitats, protect wildlife, nurture the environment in sustainable ways, engage local people, and make the environments positive places for our communities.
- Social Cohesion and Safe Communities
- In recent years there has been a decline in easy access to social activities and safe community spaces and places. This includes access to clubs, teams, associations, and other activities that help communities grow together and support each other. The Community Fund supports projects that enhance social cohesion, innovate new services such as for childcare, reduce loneliness, or the risk of anti-social behaviour or crime. They want to promote safe, enjoyable and wellbeing-oriented community spaces and activities.
- Youth Wellbeing, Education and Careers
- Wellbeing, Education and Employment is critically important for Young People. They face barriers to educational or employment opportunities, whether these be about individual skills, commuting, aspiration, awareness, or confidence. The Community Fund will support projects that tackle such concerns, work with local schools and other partners, and extend, enhance, or innovate new opportunities for young people.
