The Kingdom of the Netherlands in Brazil has announced an open call for its Cultural Heritage Fund to support organisations in the conservation, documentation, management aimed at sustainable use and visibility of cultural heritage between the Netherlands and Brazil, be it material or immaterial.
Topics
- The project should address one or more of the three topics below:
- Interaction with the living environment
- Impact of the Dutch presence in Brazil colonial period or more recent
- Heritage (material and/or immaterial) built on the Dutch influence
Priorities
- In order to strengthen cooperation, preference will be given to projects in which the Brazilian applicant institution works together with a Dutch partner based in the Netherlands; if the executing institution is Dutch, it must work in partnership with a Brazilian organisation.
Funding Information
- The Embassy may provide a total financial support of up to R$ 53,000.00 (fifty-three thousand Brazilian real), or EUR 10,000.00 (ten thousand euros), the latter for payments made in Europe only. The financial contribution will be made in Brazilian Real (BRL), unless the institution is headquartered and has bank account outside of Brazil.
- Duration: The project must last a maximum of 12 months, and must start until 1 December 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
- The institution must be a legal, non-commercial entity, and not dependent on the Dutch financial contribution for its operation;
- The institution must have sound financial and management systems that ensure effective and efficient implementation of the activities for which grant funding is being sought;
- The institution must have a business bank account, in a bank that allows international transfers of money (SWIFT code), if outside the Netherlands;
- The institution must demonstrate that it has adopted an integrity policy and that it has introduced procedures to apply that policy;
- The institution must have been established at least 3 years ago and must not have legal issues with tax and labor agencies.
Evaluation Criteria
- The projects will be evaluated for their ability to strengthen cultural identity and/or cultural heritage between both countries, as well as to generate knowledge about this heritage and its impact.
- The effects of the project on the local area will also be considered, including aspects such as community engagement, access to cultural activities, and the promotion of science and education. A key part of the evaluation will be whether the project promotes the conservation and sustainable use of the heritage.
