Applications are now open for the Regional Arts Development Fund to promote the role and value of arts, culture and heritage as key drivers of diverse and inclusive communities and strong regions.
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is delivered as a partnership between the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and eligible local councils across the state.
RADF invests in local arts and cultural priorities, as determined by local communities, across Queensland.
RADF is a flexible fund, enabling local councils to tailor RADF programs to suit the needs of their communities.
Categories
- There are two funding categories:
- Individual Professional Development
- Community Project Grants
Objectives
- RADF objectives are to support arts and cultural activities that:
- provide public value for Queensland communities
- build local cultural capacity, cultural innovation and community pride
- deliver Queensland Government’s objectives for the community.
- Individual Professional Development
- Objective: To nurture the creative and talented individuals in the Banana Shire and encourage growth in their practice.
- These grants are to support individual professional and emerging artists or arts and cultural workers living in the Banana Shire to undertake professional development activities located within Australia. These activities will support the participant to grow and excel in their chosen field of practice.
- Activities could include, but are not limited to:
- Attendance to professional development seminars, conferences, master classes or workshops.
- Mentorships or organised activities with industry professionals.
- Placements with recognised arts and cultural organisations.
- Travel, accommodation and associated costs with attending your activity.
- Community Project Grants
- Banana Shire RADF Funding categories are based on the Banana Shire Local Arts and Culture Priorities 2018-20, established through community feedback.
- Events and Festivals
- Objective: For the provision of arts and culture activity within local events and festivals.
- Performances and Productions
- Objective: To provide creative performances and productions to Banana Shire communities.
- Skills Development
- Objective: Strengthen the local arts and cultural community and ecnourage growth and participation through providion of skills development opportunities. With particular focus on new and emerging artists and cultural workers.
- Creative Generation
- Objective: Foster a new generation and build a community that values and participates in arts and culture regularly by providing activities that cater for children and young people.
Funding Information
- Individual Professional Development
- Grant Amount: $500 or $1000
- Community Project Grants
- Grant Amount: up to $3000 (or $5000 for significant projects involving multiple communities).
Eligibility Criteria
- Individual Professional Development
- Individual professional and emerging artists, artsworkers, cultural workers and project coordinators based in the Banana Shire. Banana Shire Council may submit applications within the grant rounds to deliver projects for the local community.
- All applicants must:
- Must be permanent residents or Australian citizens
- Must have successfully acquitted previous RADF grants
- Have an ABN (or be auspiced by individual/organisation with ABN)
- Community Project Grants
- Individual professional artists, emerging artists, arts workers, cultural workers, project coordinators
- Must be permanent residents or Australian citizens
- Collectives or cooperatives are community groups or groups of artists that are not incorporated but must be auspiced by an incorporated organisation including Local Government, or an individual with an ABN.
- Eligible organisations include arts and cultural and community not-for-profit organisations and Australian companies that are either based in Queensland or able to demonstrate how their project will directly benefit Queensland arts and culture.
- All applicants must:
- Have successfully acquitted previous RADF grants
- Be based in the Banana Shire OR if based outside the Shire, applicants must demonstrate how the project will directly benefits arts and culture in the Banana Shire.
- Have an ABN (or be auspiced by individual/organisation with ABN)
