Digital Health Week (DHW) is now open to any organisation wanting to take action, engage on social media, share stories, launch campaigns, host events or make a public commitment.
Organisations will be able to upload their activity or event on the The DHW platform, which will host the DHW Action Tracker that will provide information on all the activities being organised worldwide. In addition the coordinating team will aggregate and amplify these activities to a global audience around specific themes.
Anyone involved in or interested in digital health or Universal Health Coverage can sign up to participate.
Objectives
The objectives of Digital Health Week are the following:
- Broaden and deepen the national and regional conversations on the digital transformation of health to achieve UHC.
- Increase the number of actions taken to promote digital transformation as a means of achieving UHC.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing on digital health within and across countries and contexts.
- Build consensus, increase support and attention for the role of digital technology and the effective use of data as a means of getting the world back on track to meet its SDG commitment to UHC.
Themes
- Small grants are offered for work on the topic of health data governance. They strongly encourage organisations to align their proposals to the My Data their Health campaign or to Transform Health’s work promoting government support for a health data governance framework that would establish a set of common global standards on the collection and use of our health data.

- Organisations are encouraged to conduct activities, campaigns and influencing work in the lead up to Digital Health Week, which would culminate in an event, campaign, or a showcase during Digital Health Week.
Eligibility Criteria
Priority will be given to organisations that fulfil the following criteria:
- Organisations based in LMICs
- Open to NGOs (preferred), applications from other organisations are welcomed (organisations must be formally registered entities)
- Youth and women led organisations
- Organisations able to demonstrate how they intend to influence the position of the government on the issue of health data governance through their activities and subsequent follow up
- Organisations that are already working on health data governance and digital health and have already started engaging with the government and others on this issue.
- Organisations that are able to attract high level government and multilateral audiences to participate in an event on health data governance and thereby raise the profile of the issue.
- Organisations able to convene multiple stakeholders, particularly operational organisations and the private sector and build consensus on the need to endorse the Health Data Governance Principles and to consider what it means in their work.
Reporting and accountability:
- All organisations receiving small grants from Transform Health will need to provide short monthly reports on actions carried out in the preparation, execution or follow up to activities funded through the current grant, using a template that will be provided.
