The Seychelles Conservation and Climate Adaptation Trust (SeyCCAT) is pleased to launch the seventh funding cycle of the Blue Grants Fund (BGF7).
The Blue Grants Fund of SeyCCAT offers grants to impactful Seychellois-led projects that advance marine conservations, sustainable fisheries, development of new and existing Marine Protected Areas and Sustainable Use Zones, and select other blue sectors.
Objectives
- The BGF7 seeks to fund projects under any of the five strategic objectives:
- Strategic Objective 1: Support new and existing marine and coastal protected areas and sustainable use zones.
- Strategic Objective 2: Empower the fisheries sector with robust science and know-how to improve governance, sustainability, value, and market options.
- Strategic Objective 3: Promote the rehabilitation of marine and coastal habitats and ecosystems that have been degraded by local and global impacts.
- Strategic Objective 4: Develop and implement risk reduction and social resilience plans to adapt to the effects of climate change.
- Strategic Objective 5: Trial and nurture appropriate business models to secure the sustainable development of Seychelles’ blue economy.

- Small-medium grant
- Large grant
Funding Information
- There are two categories of grant that may be applied for:
- Small-medium grant up to SCR 100,000 [approximately US$7,500]. These grants will be awarded on the basis of an approved concept.
- Large grant between SCR 100,000 [approximately US$7,500] and SR 1,000,000 [approximately US$75,000]. These grants will be short-listed on the basis of the concept (stage 1), and then awarded on the basis of a full proposal (stage 2).
Eligibility Criteria
- Any Government agency, locally-registered NGO or CSO, parastatal organization or citizen of Seychelles may submit a proposal to SeyCCAT. Proposers must have legally existed and operated in the Seychelles for a minimum of one year.
- Overseas-based organizations are not eligible, although proposals from and led by eligible local organizations may include overseas-based partners.
- The Board of Directors may decide to restrict the participation of any of the classes of persons or organizations in any Call for Proposal, and this shall be indicated in the scope of the Call for Proposals.
- Proposers will be required to include details of qualifications and experience to ensure that a sound judgment can be made concerning the proposer’s ability to deliver the project.
