Sir George Earle Benevolent Fund & the Older People’s Fund – UK

US: Restore Colorado Program

Deadline: 26-Aug-21

The Community Foundation Northern Ireland is seeking applications for its Sir George Earle Benevolent Fund & the Older People’s Fund to support current and former employees of Blue Circle Industries in the UK or relevant subsidiaries in cases of financial hardship and to fund local projects supporting older people facing loneliness and isolation.

The Sir George Earle Benevolent Fund is named after its principal benefactor, the late Sir George Earle.  The fund was established in 1974 and was transferred to UKCF in 2018.

The Older People’s Fund, originally called the Turkington Fund, was created with financial support from NICVA via resources from Turkington and Seapark and is managed by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland.  The fund has grown significantly in recent years with additional investment from the Community Foundation and Atlantic Philanthropies.

The Community Foundation for Northern Ireland is delighted to combine these two funds together, to make up one larger funding stream, to enable them to distribute more grants to older people’s projects in Northern Ireland.
