Solidarity Fund for Access to Water and Sanitation (France)

Entries Open for IWA Water and Development Awards 2023

Deadline: 02-Jun-24

Eurometropolis of Strasbourg is inviting applications for the International solidarity fund for access to water and sanitation aims to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development objective no. 6 adopted by the UN in 2015: “Guarantee access for all to water and sanitation and ensure sustainable management of water resources in the world by 2030.”

The UN, in its 2030 agenda, adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which provide the path to follow to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.

The 2005 law known as Oudin-Santini (law no. 2005-95) allows communities, unions and water agencies to devote up to 1% of their water and sanitation budget to finance international solidarity actions in these sectors.

The Strasbourg Eurometropolis contributes to this sustainable development objective no. 6 by setting up an international solidarity fund of which the Rhine-Meuse Water Agency is a privileged partner.
