The Somerset Community Foundation has announced South West Enterprise Grants program to help passionate people in Somerset change the world on their doorstep by funding local charities and inspiring local giving and philanthropy.
Through their grant-giving, they aim to build stronger communities in Somerset where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. They award funding to hundreds of small, local charities, community groups and social enterprises across the county every year, offering a range of grants programmers, including project-based, core costs, small, large, annual and multi-year grants and loans.
Funding Information and other details
- They have around £10,000 to give out this year. This money comes from the South West Enterprise Fund which is working with Somerset Community Foundation and is involved in the awards process.
- If you meet all the eligibility criteria then you can ask them for up to £1,000.
- This money can be used to pay for the equipment, materials, stock and services you need in order to get your business running (you cannot apply for salary/your own living costs). You’ll need to tell they about your business in your application form, or you can attach a business plan that you’ve already written
- They may also invite you to a meeting (either online or in person) to tell them in more details about your business. If this is the case, they will email you to arrange a date and time.
Eligibility Criteria
- You can only apply if you:
- are aged 18 to 30
- currently live in the county of Somerset (but not North Somerset or BANES)
- are not in education, employment or training
want to start your own business and know what products or services you want to provide or have been trading for under 2 years.
