AmplifyChange is seeking applications for the Strengthening Grants to support advocacy work for small to medium civil society organisations that seek to bring about change in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
The purpose of this Strengthening Grant call is to fund small to medium civil society organisations, support their advocacy work, and strengthen them so they can bring about positive change in one of the AmplifyChange priority themes or an intersection or combination of themes: Abortion, Violence, Youth, Stigma, and Access.
Priority Themes
- Eliminating gender-based violence
- Safe abortion choices
- Challenging stigma and discrimination
- Better sexual health for young people
- Access to SRHR services for vulnerable and marginalised groups
- Other themes
- They are happy to receive applications from organisations who wish to integrate these issues into their proposals:
- Climate justice
- Pleasure-based sexual health
- Mental health

Funding Information
- Grant Amount Up to: £200,000
- The duration of a Strengthening Grant is 24 to 36 months.
- Up to 40% of a Strengthening Grant can be used to support the costs of organisational development and boosting organisational effectiveness.
Eligible Project Funding
- They are particularly interested to fund projects that:
- are submitted by small to medium sized organisations seeking to grow and develop their organisational capacity
- aim to address the root causes and drivers of discriminatory social norms and inequitable power relations
- scale up a successful idea or innovative approach
- implementing a promising practice that have shown initial success
- empower marginalised groups to advocate for their rights and access to services
- work towards the development, improvement and effective implementation of laws and policies, including by-laws
Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants must meet the general eligibility criteria as well as the criteria detailed below:
- Your organisation must be registered and implementing a project in one of the AmplifyChange eligible countries.
- Your organisation must have a bank account.
- You must be a small to medium sized organisation with an average annual expenditure over the past two years between GBP 250,000 and GBP 500,000 per year. For example, if your expenditure in 2021 was GBP 450,000 GBP, and in 2022 it was GBP 600,000, the average would be GBP 525,000 – this would mean you would not be eligible to apply.
- You will be asked to submit evidence for your expenditure values. This could be an audited report or a profit and loss statement.
