Applications are now open for Business Innovation Fund to support businesses from a wide range of sectors to help develop innovative projects and products that not only fulfill market demand, but also deliver industrial growth.
Funding Information
- Your project must be completed within 12 months of a grant award, unless otherwise agreed with WECA.
- You can apply for a grant of either:
- £20,000 to cover up to 40% of your total project costs, or
- £50,000 to cover up to 50% of your total project costs, where your project is progressed in collaboration with a research organisation such as a university
Which Sectors Are Eligible To Apply?
The Business Innovation Fund is cross-sector and therefore SMEs from any eligible sectors can apply. The following types of activity are particularly of interest:
- R,D&I that results in a greener, safer, healthier, fairer and more resilient economy.
- R,D&I that contributes to meeting one or more of the Grand Challenges and addresses society’s most important issues. In particular they are keen to support projects that contribute to their transition to net zero
Eligibility Criteria
Research, development and innovation can help your business adapt for the future, get ahead of the competition, develop commercially attractive products, processes and services to reach new customers, and create jobs.
- Your business is based in the West of England – Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire.
- You are able to match fund the cost of your project.
- You’re a small or medium sized business with a staff headcount lower than 250.
