Submit Applications for Canada Fund for Local Initiatives – Ukraine

Up to $150,000 available under Innovation Grants in Australia

Deadline: 24 June 2019

The Embassy of Canada in Ukraine has launched its annual call for proposals for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).

The CFLI is a program designed to support small-scale, high-impact projects which align with Global Affairs Canada’s thematic priority areas for engagement. The program is directed at projects conceived and designed predominantly by local partners.

The CFLI also serves to support positive bilateral relations between Canada and recipient countries and their civil societies, by deepening contacts and supporting local endeavors.

Thematic Priorities

All projects must align with at least one of the following CFLI thematic priorities:

Canada Fund projects must conform to the principles of results-based management and incorporate the fundamentals of gender equality.   As such, projects must clearly outline the project’s expected results and resources required. Projects should also provide basic indicators (measures) that will be used to track progress towards the achievement of results. Projects will be expected to provide an Interim Report, showing the progress towards the results they identified in the application and the Final Report at the end of the Project.

Funding Information

The average CFLI contribution is $5 000 to $35 000 Canadian Dollars (CAD $50,000 is the maximum allocation amount for a one-year project eligible under CFLI; for a two-year project, the maximum is CAD $100,000). Please note that all contributions are made in Canadian dollars and then converted to the Ukrainian Hryvnia.

Two-year Programming

Projects spanning two fiscal years (April 2019 to March 2021) may be permitted depending on the project objectives and the complexity of activities.
