The Start the Change! project has launched a call for proposals – “GlobART 2030: fight inequalities for sustainable development”.
The call for proposals ‘GlobART 2030’ is within the Start the Change project! Educational model on global active citizenship to reach the Sustainable Development Goals with a special focus on relationship between migration and inequality, funded by the European Commission under the DEAR (Development Education and Raising Awareness) program.
‘GlobART 2030’ is aimed at CSOs (Civil Society Organizations) who are based and operate in United Kingdom (UK) or Italy or Germany or Spain or France, who intend to promote and experiment educational actions, with young people aged between 14 and 25, that stimulate a reflection on the connection between global inequalities and migrations, through the use of artistic and creative languages (theatre, music, cinema, etc.) to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Aims and Priorities
- The arts have been used to impart humankind’s morals, values, and condemned injustices, and expressed new perspectives on society’s well-being. The SDGs are the world’s most comprehensive way to achieve economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. By blending rational and emotional expression, the arts serve as the ideal medium to convey the SDGs and inspire audiences to take action.
- The aim of this call for proposals is to contribute, through the use of artistic languages, to the development of knowledge and critical sense among young people with respect to the connection between migration and global inequalities, referring to one or more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- The proposed projects must foster:
- an improved critical understanding of global inequalities by young people (economic, social and environmental) and their link with migration issues, through the use of artistic-expressive languages;
- a growing awareness and critical understanding, among young people, of the role, responsibility and lifestyles in relation to an interdependent world. It should motivate their effective involvement in local and global Actions in support of the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development.
- The enhancement of synergies and collaborations in the intervention area will be evaluated in the evaluation of the proposals.
Funding Information
- The amount available in this contract is 63.000 euros.
- The budget of each of the submitted proposals must be included between the following minimum and maximum amounts:
- Minimum amount: 6.000 euros
- Maximum amount: 8.000 euros
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for funding, the project ideas must be in line with the objectives and priorities of this contract, clearly identifying the expected results. Furthermore, all the ideas presented must be carried out in one of the geographical areas indicated below, by entities with registered and operational offices in the same areas: United Kingdom, Italy, France, Germany, and Spain.
- In order to be eligible for a financial support, the applicant must:
- Be a legal person and/or registered entity AND
- Be a Civil Society Organisation (CSO) AND
- Be non-profit making AND
- Be established in one of the countries mentioned above AND
- Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the Action, not acting as an intermediary AND
- not having benefited from a contribution under the DEAR program (invitation to call for proposals 2016), directly or indirectly (for example through the financial support of a project financed under the same program)
- be able to anticipate 30% of the loan (which will be covered following the approval of the final narrative and financial reports)
Eligible Projects
In order to be eligible, the project proposal MUST :
- Be aimed at young people between 14 and 25;
- Involve a course of at least 8 hours of direct work with young people;
- Involve at least 250young people;
- Use an artistic / creative language/approach;
- Pursue goals and priorities,
Evaluation Criteria
The project proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- proven experience and competence of the institution to support the idea that you want to put into action;
- quality of the proposal in terms of:
- relevance of the project idea with respect to the objectives and priorities of the call;
- consistency between objectives, expected results and project activities;
- clarity in the description of the objectives and in the identification of the target;
- consistency between activity and economic plan;
- project innovativeness, with reference to the proposed activities and implementation methods, in dealing with the link between global inequalities and migrations;
- level of direct involvement of young people in one or more phases of the initiative.
