The Suffolk Community Foundation is pleased to announce Suffolk Carers Grant Programme for activities within communities that enable adult unpaid carers to sustain their caring role by supporting their feelings of wellbeing, choice and control.

This grant programme has been created by Suffolk County Council and aims to support those providing unpaid support to family members and friends who are ill, frail, or have physical or mental health or addiction issues.

This funding programme recognises that challenge and seeks to support those who provide this unpaid care.

They are especially interested in submissions that boost independence of carers in their use of technology, whether this is one-to-one coaching or training on use of IT, or giving carers skills and confidence to access support, or keep connected with those they care for via their smart phones, laptops or tablets.

Eligibility Criteria

Your organisation should have a constitution/governing document/Articles of Association/set of rules to apply for funding and a management committee with a minimum of three independent members. This document will typically show:-

Note: Your constitution must also include a Dissolution Clause i.e. what happens to the group’s assets if it ceases to operate. This clause should state that any assets remaining after the settlement of debts will be transferred to an organisation with similar charitable purposes, and not distributed among members. Articles of Association for CICs must contain a named Asset Lock.
