The High Sheriff of West Yorkshire Fund – UK

JRCT's Power and Accountability Grant Programme (UK)

Deadline: 11-Oct-21

The Leeds Community Foundation (LCF) is seeking applications for its High Sheriff of West Yorkshire Fund to support from Mayoral Combined Authority.

The Office of High Sheriff is an independent non-political Royal appointment for a single year. The origins of the Office date back to Saxon times, when the ‘Shire Reeve’ was responsible to the king for the maintenance of law and order within the shire, or county, and for the collection and return of taxes due to the Crown. Today, there are fifty-five High Sheriffs serving the counties of England and Wales each year.
The fund invites applications from 1-year projects that are working with young people to create safe communities. Projects should be youth led; this means that the project-idea should come from young people. If projects are adult led, young people aged 5-25 years should play a significant role in the management and delivery.
