The Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) is seeking applications for its Jerry Redfern Grant Program of the Musgrave Foundation Fall 2021 to support agencies that meet the qualifications of this program.
The Community Foundation of the Ozarks is proud to provide the grant administration for the Jeannette L. Musgrave Foundation, managed by U.S. Bank Wealth Management. On behalf of the Musgrave Foundation, the CFO will distribute grants through several programs each year, with the Musgrave Foundation Distribution Committee making recommendations.
The Musgrave Foundation provides grantmaking support via a charitable trust of the same name. Born in 1901 in Fort Scott, Kansas, Jeannette L. Musgrave would later marry Edward F. Musgrave and become his assistant in his Springfield dental practice, beginning a lifelong love of nursing and health care. Dr. Musgrave inherited a sizable sum from his family’s oil leases in Oklahoma and Texas, which passed to Mrs. Musgrave upon his death in 1970. In the later years of her life, Mrs. Musgrave formed her foundation to ensure her legacy of generosity and support for Springfield-Greene County. The Jeannette L. Musgrave Foundation was established in 1983 and has distributed more than $16 million in grants since its inception. It is managed by U.S. Bank Wealth Management.
