The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad’s Public Affairs (PA) Section is seeking an implementer for a two-week study tour in the United States on the topic of media curriculum development.
The goals of this project are to improve the quality of journalism and civil discourse in Iraq by helping media colleges produce responsible, well-informed young journalists with exposure to the best practices of modern media organizations and to foster cooperation between Iraq and the United States in the field of higher education. The program will create valuable networking opportunities for Iraqi educators and representatives of higher education in the United States, which will facilitate future collaboration between Iraqi and U.S. university media departments.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applications must be submitted by U.S. public and private non-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3).
- Applicants must:
- Be a U.S. non-profit organization meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c) (3); an internationally based non-profit organization; an academic institution; or other institution for which profit is not a primary motive;
- Have demonstrated experience developing and administering similar programs;
- Have the capacity to operate in Iraq and have active partnerships with organization(s) operating in Iraq needed to support the program.
