The U.S. Embassy in Cyprus announces a call for proposals for projects that encourage and promote mutual understanding and collaboration between the United States and Cyprus.
Proposed projects should aim at benefiting the community, sharing common values, and where possible, feature collaboration with U.S experts. Examples of such projects include but are not limited to cultural events, women’s empowerment programs, community infrastructure improvements, English teaching or media literacy education, environmental or human rights campaigns, etc. Where possible, projects on cultural cooperation should feature collaboration between the United States and Cyprus and include or highlight U.S. artists.
Topics
Civil society sector projects should address issues on the following topics:
- Promoting Innovation
- Women’s Empowerment
- Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms
- Promoting Diversity and Inclusion
- Combating Trafficking in Persons
- Youth Engagement
- Environmental Preservation and Sustainability
- Media and Investigative Journalism
- Digital Literacy and Countering Disinformation
- American Culture and English Language
Funding Information
- Funding requests between USD $1,000 and USD $5,000.
Criteria
- The U.S. Embassy is accepting proposals from individuals and non-profit organizations such as youth or human rights organizations, educators, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), municipalities, and educational institutions.
- Priority will be given to organizations which have not received funding from the U.S. Embassy in the past, and to those that are working in areas outside of the capital region.
