The U.S. Embassy Ulaanbaatar Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Local Grants Program (LGP).
The PAS invites proposals for programs that strengthen people to people ties between the United States and Mongolia, highlight shared democratic values, and promote bilateral cooperation through cultural, policy, and exchange programming.
All programs must include an American cultural, policy, or social element, or connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote an increased understanding of U.S. policies and perspectives. All programs should be designed to engage with the Mongolian public.
2021 Priority Program Areas
- Support Participatory Democratic Institutions;
- Trade & Economic Ties;
- Media;
- Good Governance, Human Rights, and the Rule of Law Civil Society in a Free and Open Indo-Pacific Region;
- Climate Change, Conservation of Natural Resources, and Improving Air and Water Quality.
Funding Information
- Length of grant performance period: 1 to 12 months;
- Number of awards anticipated cycle: up to 3 awards (dependent on amounts);
- Award amounts: awards may range from a minimum of $1,000 to a maximum of $15,000;
- Total available funding per cycle: $12,000 – $15,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- The PAS encourages applications from U.S. and Mongolian:
- Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations with programming experience;
- Non-profit or governmental educational institutions;
- Public institutions.
- Note: Individuals, for-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply.
