The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Uganda has announced an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for small grants that support embassy’s mission goal of strengthening democratic institutions and processes to allow for more accountable governance in Uganda.
Projects should aim to promote transparency and accountability in the local community, and the implementation period should be one year.
The Public Affairs Section target audience is typically youth. Projects using social media and public communication are encouraged.
Funding Information
- Funding of up to $20,000 for a grant may be approved, subject to your project being selected and availability of funds.
- Grants will not be awarded to individuals.
How to Apply
- Applicants must submit a concept note (no more than two pages) describing a program that addresses the theme of transparency and accountability in governance. Please include an estimate of applicant’s program’s cost.
- If the concept note fits with embassy’s goals, the Embassy will reach out to applicants to submit a formal proposal. For a proposal to be considered it must be submitted by a duly registered organization and specifically addressing the theme indicated.
- Applications should be sent at the address given on the website and should include the following information:
- Name and address of the organization
- Name and contact information of authorized representative
- Purpose of the grant, project description, goals and objectives
- Itemized budget
- Period of implementation
