The U.S. Embassy has announced the 2017 Spring Round of the Democracy Commission Small Grants Program. This program supports the development of Kyrgyzstan’s democratic institutions and civil society by competitively awarding small grants to Kyrgyz nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and associations, nonprofit civil society organizations (CSOs), and independent local media organizations.

The Democracy Commission at the Embassy of the United States of America was established in 1994 to enable the Embassy to support non-commercial projects to advance democracy and democratic values in Kyrgyzstan, to support development of the civil society based on rule of law and respect for human rights.

Funding Information

Maximum grant award is $50,000 with the average grant at $25,000 or less.

State bodies are encouraged to work with NGOs to submit applications.
