U.S. Embassy seeking Applications for Bicentennial of Peru’s Independence

The U.S. Embassy Lima Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Department of State announces a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) open competition for Peruvian and U.S. civil society, institutions, NGOs, the Peruvian diaspora in the United States, and/or government organizations to submit applications to carry out a program any time in 2021 to commemorate the bicentennial of Peruvian independence, which will be commemorated on July 28, 2021.

The United States and Peru have enjoyed an ongoing and mutually beneficial strategic partnership since establishing diplomatic relations in 1827. The United States partners with Peru in support of Peru’s aspirations for regional and global leadership, and to continue the fight against transnational criminal organizations, promote economic opportunities for U.S. businesses, and strengthen citizen safety and security.

Additionally, proposals must explicitly address one or more of the thematic goals of the Bicentennial Project:

The Bicentennial Project is a celebration of the Peru of today and an aspiration for innovative, diverse citizens of tomorrow. A list of suggested programs follows, but serious consideration will be given to any proposal that contains an element of ICS and the Bicentennial Project’s stated thematic goals.
